HAMVENTION IS ALMOST HERE!

Hamvention 2026​
I am making my first ever trip to Dayton Hamvention this year. I have been wanting to go for many years now and this year all of the pieces of the puzzle fell into place.

I'm heading out Tuesday and leisurely making my way to Dayton and sometime on Wednesday I'll be rolling into town. If everything goes right (nothing like waiting until the last minute before testing this out), I'll have my AllStarLink node connected to Jason KC5HWB's node 43136 and chatting along with others also making their way to Hamvention.

Also, I plan on stopping in West Virginia on Wednesday morning to do a quick POTA activation there. As luck would have it, there's a POTA entity along my route. And the last time I was in West Virginia I was not aware of POTA. You have to take advantage of these types of opportunities when they arise! I might stop on Tuesday somewhere in western Pennsylvania, but not too sure yet. I will definitely be stopping along the way home the following week. Make sure you have me in your HamAlert app!

If you are there at Hamvention, be sure to look for me if you want some FREE stickers (everyone loves free stuff). I'll have a few different ones with me. To make it easier to spot me, I will have one of my callsign hats or channel logo shirt or sweatshirt on (depending on the weather).

I think the biggest thing I'm looking forward to is meeting everyone that I have meet through amateur radio, whether if it was on the air & POTA, through YouTube or other social media platforms, or through being a VE.

I've been planning a specific video for a few months and finally got a chance to re-record it. I was not happy with my first attempt at it. So far, I am planning on dropping it during the Tuesday Night Video Premieres (starting roughly around 19:00 EDT / 23:00 UTC) before the Ham Radio Clubhouse livestream. Be on the lookout for it.
